Meals on Wheels Riverside sets carnival-themed fundraiser

Meals on Wheels Riverside is hosting a carnival-themed fundraiser Thursday, June 10, to support its work helping older residents and the homebound who are in need.

Summer Jubilee will be at the Riverside home of Judy Teunissen, the organization’s board president, 2006 Adams St., Riverside.

The event will assist the group’s programs and operations and help keep costs low for about 100 clients in Riverside, Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley and Norco who rely on it for healthy, fresh food, a news release states.

The 5:30 p.m. event will feature games, family activities, food, a Ferris wheel and a silent and live auction. For $125, guests will receive 10 activity tickets for use at the fundraiser.

“Many people do not realize that our clients sign up and pay for these nutritious meals,” Teunissen said in the release. “These are the residents that do not qualify for subsidized meals — but need our help because some of them are unable to  leave their homes.”
